PGD es una patolog\u00eda multifactorial de origen infeccioso y no infeccioso de distribuci\u00f3n mundial que afecta las branquias generando problemas significativos en Salm\u00f3n del Atl\u00e1ntico (Salmo salar<\/em>) y otras especies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dentro de las causas se describe la presencia de virus (Atlantic salmon paramyxovirus-ASPV; Salmon Gill poxvirus- SGPV), bacterias (Tenacibaculum maritimus, Piscichlamydia salmones, Candidatus Clavochlamydia salmonis<\/em>) par\u00e1sitos (Neoparamoeba perurans, Loma salmonae, Ichthyobodo spp.<\/em>, Trichodina sp<\/em>.) y causas no infecciosas como  fitoplancton y zooplancton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A nivel macrosc\u00f3pico se observan manchas de color blanco engrosadas, principalmente en tercio distal de laminilla primaria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

La hiperplasia conduce a alteraciones en el intercambio gaseoso, y otros mecanismos metab\u00f3licos y homeost\u00e1ticos, donde  las branquias son responsables, incluido mecanismos de eliminaci\u00f3n de detritus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
